Your First Visit

I look forward to meeting with you for our first session.

We will start with the Initial Intake. This includes a detailed health history, a review of body systems (how is your sleep, energy, digestion, etc.), a lifestyle assessment, and your first treatment.

This first session is one-and-a-half to two hours to allow enough time for a treatment in addition to getting a thorough picture of your health goals and needs.

If your first visit is an herbal consult, we will spend an hour and a half together, gathering information. I will then work on a formula for you and let you know when it is ready to pick up.

A few details for you ahead of time:

Health History and Consent Forms
Paperwork is available below to print out on your own if you would like to fill them out ahead of time. There will be time to do this at the first visit if you would prefer. Some people like to fill it out ahead of time without feeling rushed.

Makeup and Fragrances
Please refrain from wearing makeup or scented products to your session as these can cover subtle diagnostic information. Additionally, there are individuals with sensitivity to fragrances who pass through our offices. We try to maintain a scent-free office in order to be a welcoming and healing space for all.

Clothing
You can wear loose comfortable clothing to your session. Many points that we may work with are accessible around clothing. If needed, there are drapes available for points that are harder to reach around clothes.

Location & Parking
As of August 12, 2019, my office is located at 1222 Rochester Ave in Iowa City (directions here).  There is onsite parking to the side of the building. You can park in the spots just beyond the big tree, not marked for the North Unit.  Free street parking is also available on Rochester Ave.

When you arrive, you can make yourself comfortable in the front room. I will be with you shortly.

Cancellation Policy
Your appointment time is reserved for you and your needs. I ask that you make every effort to notify me as far in advance as possible if you are unable to keep an appointment so that your appointment time can be utilized by another. I ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation. This means that an appointment not canceled 24 or more hours prior to treatment may be charged for the scheduled appointment time. I understand that not all circumstances allow for advanced notice. Payment may be waived at my discretion in specific cases.

My Promise to You and My Profession
As a practitioner of this medicine, I see people not only as they present themselves in illness, but more importantly as they would be in perfect health and balance, in full discovery of their true nature, unique in body, mind and spirit. Moving toward this, then becomes the purpose of treatment.
